Sketch mixed media sketch of acrylic and graphite created by Gloria Poole, RN, artist of Missouri 14 Jan 2015. This sketch that I drew first with a number 555 graphite pencil and then painted part of it with acrylic is intended to be one of the sketches I created this week for the theme of how parents relate to their children. I put two mini exhibits of art I created that displays that theme on my [Part I]  and also on my [Part II]  in the past 2 days.  When I started drawing this today I had on my mind a science project and then I thought how could parents begin to teach their very small children to think scientifically and mathematically.  So, I decided I would include geometric shapes and a sort of wire puzzle in the sketch. As you see hopefully, the daddy is sort of fascinated with it but the little girl is not so much [ fascinated] and is intimidated by it. Which is a fairly true to life statistic. It is a fact of life that girls and boys think differently because of different body parts and different brains and different hormones. It is not intended to be a “rocket- science” sort of sketch. Just a way of reminding fathers to introduce their little girls also to science and math and geometry.  This sketch and all art I create, all photos I photograph and all words I write are copyrighted. and I, Gloria Poole, own all rights to them.
