This is my effort to paint a pine cone. I was born and grew up in south Georgia, USA, where pine cones are plentiful; and where they are used to adorn Christmas wreaths, mantel hangings, doorways, and baskets at the hearth. I tried to draw this /paint it with oil pastels. When I began this I thought I would put a wash of turpentine over it but it looked more like a pine cone without that so I didn’t. I left the texture of the oil pastels. I also signed this, photographed it, uploaded it and posted it to this blog of mine today. This is 8 x 11 paper that I sized ahead of time with wheat paste with a recipe in an art book. Copyrighted.
